Airbus BizLab has announced the launch of the 2nd edition of #Africa4Future Challenge.

Airbus’ global aerospace accelerator BizLab will be partnering Make-IT in Africa, a programme by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit German (GIZ), the German agency for International Cooperation.

The joint program will be implemented by pan-African incubator the MEST and innovation consultancy Innocircle.

Airbus through the challenge, seeks to build bridges between the aerospace industry and the different players in Africa.

The challenge is open to African tech startups that are actively working on solutions related to unmanned logistics and remote sensing technology, including automation and drones, electrification, blockchain, artificial intelligence, data analytics and material composites and manufacturing.

Ten applicants will be selected to join #Africa4Future, a six-month acceleration program which will begin on January 7, 2019, and features workshop periods in Nigeria, South Africa and Europe.

Startups will have access to industry-leading experts at Airbus during the programme; feedback on their technology and business models from top engineers; the opportunity to launch collaborative projects with Airbus; and six months work space at one of the MEST Africa locations.

The accelerator will end in a Demo Day at the Paris International Airshow in June 2019.

Applications close November 30, 2018.
