The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that government will be digitalizing the Ghanaian economy.

As a result of that, the Vice President mentioned that individuals who have not verified their digital address will find it difficult to register for the National Identification Card.

This he said is because the digital address will be needed to complete the registration of the National ID.

He however hinted that there will be a land digitalization conference in the country this February.

According to him, this will take the land acquisition process to the next level where, people would have to acquire lands through digital means.

Dr. Bawumia however mentioned that government, in its quest to promote local trading will be reducing the cost involved in doing business in the country.

The Vice President made these remarks at the opening of the 69th annual New Year School and Conference at the University of Ghana on Monday.

The theme for this year’s conference is; “Job Creation for Accelerated National Development: The Role of the Private Sector”.
