CEO of major global technology companies, Mark Zuckerberg has committed to exploring blockchain.
According to him, just as he takes personal challenges in learning new things every year, this year is no exception.
He explained that his personal challenge for 2018, is to focus on fixing important issues although all can not be tackled at a go.
On the issue of technology, the tech giant plans to study the positive and negative aspects of cryptocurrencies as well as encryption, to examine if it will be helpful to his organisation.
“There are important counter-trends to this –like encryption and cryptocurrency — that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people’s hands. But they come with the risk of being harder to control. I’m interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services,” he said.
Mr. Zuckerberg believes that if blockchain is utilized correctly, it could give facebook a platform to beat censors worldwide.
