The MTN Foundation has constructed a state-of-the-art library and ICT center for the New Juaben Senior High School at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The facilities boast of features such as full internet connectivity and a teachers’ common room.

The project replaces the poorly ventilated and poorly stocked library to give students and teachers the opportunity to augment their digital knowledge.

The 200-seater library and the 20-seater ICT center is expected to improve the learning and teaching environment for the students and the teaching staff of New Juaben SHS.

As a partner of the project, Huawei will bear all the high-speed internet costs at the facility for five years.

The commissioning of the facility makes 144 projects funded by the MTN Foundation, for a total GHȼ33 million.
82 of the 144 projects across the country are in the educational sector.

This project at New Juaben Senior High School is also part of the MTN Ghana Foundation’s 10th Anniversary activities.

This year’s theme is: “Celebrating Ten years of brightening lives, inspiring a brighter future.”

Selorm Adadevoh, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, said “I believe this would give you the opportunity to learn in a different way to expand your digital knowledge about how things happen in different parts of the world and be part of that revolution.”

Frank Obeng Wilson, Headmaster of New Juaben, articulated his gratitude to the MTN foundation for their gesture.
