In one of the most anticipated contests of the National Science and Maths Quiz, the Presbyterian Boys Sec. School(Presec), Legon admitted defeat to Mfantsipim School(Botwe) after they took a spot in the competition’s semifinals.

Presec went up against Botwe and KNUST SHS in the first contest of the quarterfinals.

Though Presec tried their hardest, they couldn’t catch up to Botwe who were on fire; ending the competition with 34 points, and  KNUST with 20 points.

Botwe (David Ansa Bel, James Owusu Appiah) with 50 points will be advancing to the semifinals.

The second contest had Aburi Girls’ SHS go up against Ghana National College and University Practice SHS.

The competition was very close; Abugiss with 34 points, Ghana National College with 39 points and University Practice SHS with 30 points by the end of the fourth round.

With 45 points, Ghana National College (Obeng-Amoako Nathan David, Nartey Elizabeth-Lynda) secured their place in the semifinals against Botwe.

Aburi Girls’ ended with 38 points and University Practice SHS with 30 points.

St. Louis SHS, Sandema SHTS and Adisadel College competed in the final contest of the day.

First timers at NSMQ Sandema SHTS gave it their best but were no match for veterans Adisco (Jeffrey Quaye, Gabriel Ampadu Sasi) who won the competition with 58 points, the former with 26 points.

St. Louis SHS finished the competition with 26 points.
